A European Vega rocket successfully lifted off from Kourou in French Guiana late this evening, 01:51 UTC, 22:51 Local time June 23rd 2015. This was the 5th launch of the Vega rocket since it's first flight in 2012. Vega lifted the Sentinel-2A satellite into orbit, Sentinel 2A is part of a planned two satellite mission by the European Space Agency to perform terrestrial observations in support of services such as forest monitoring, land cover changes detection, and natural disaster management.
