One of the most known in Cuba and abroad rumberas groupings. Created in 1963 in Havana. True masters of Cuban percussion. Exceptional group of voices. With solely five musicians they seize of the scene and create a unrepeatable spectacle doing delight the public, combining the most genuine manifestations of the rumba. They carry over 40 years still the kings of Cuban percussion.
The Abreu family of musical tradition in the rumba, with up eleven members in this specialty. Oriundos of Marianao the recognized barriada West-habanero which sent forth to the great Chano Pozo, the Abreu brothers come from a humble family of eleven musicians all consecrated to "the mother rumba"
In 1963 the birth of a cultural phenomenon unprecedented is da: Los Papines, formed by the Luis, Alfredo, Jesus, and Ricardo Abreu brothers; this ultimo I called affectionately as Papín and who directs to the group hence its name of Los Papines.
The spirit of overcoming never abandoned to the brothers. As they wished a demanding vocal projection, the teacher Luis Carbonell they approached for that train them in the field of polyphony and in achieving of advanced harmonious solutions, to more than assume the rigors of the tuning and the correct intonation.
