Guatemala: Rios Montt's Lawyer Gunned Down

In Guatemala City, on Wednesday two gunmen on a motorcycle shot and killed Francisco Palomo, a lawyer on the defense team of former dictator Efrain Rios Montt. The gunmen are still at large. Montt has been involved in court battles over the past few years over charges that he was responsible for genocide committed against the Maya Ixil indigenous community between 1982 and 1983.
