This was a film I made as my thesis Project 2 film while I was attending UCLA college in Los Angeles in the U.S. studying motion picture film production. When we screened the film at school we got booed for making a commercially viable film because all the other students were making documentaries about handicapped people. The film actually played in Theaters in the U.S. ahead of a now forgotten film titled "Man Friday" that starred Peter O'Toole as Robinson Crusoe and Richard Roundtree as his servant. We had a lot of fun making the film because we were able to talk a lot of name actors into making cameo appearances in the film.

00:00For the next 20 minutes, you will be catapulted into one of the shortest and most terrifying
00:08disasters ever written.
00:10The management of this theater assumes no response to the film you're about to see.
00:15Certain scenes are of a highly graphic nature, and certain special effects are extremely
00:20vivid.
00:21Those with unstable personalities are advised to sit well to the left in the theater.
00:30Nighttime, lady.
00:49Mortises sank in flames at sea, 25 killed, 10 seriously worried, as cline-deformed husks
00:55stud the most horrendous, trans-temporal fate of Morgana, yet matressed.
00:59More on this story as it comes in.
01:01Hello. Hello, Keith.
01:25Par Avion SST, Flight 37, this is Twin Cities Towers.
01:35Par Avion SST, Flight 37, this is Twin Cities Towers.
01:39Par Avion 37, you have not been granted permission to enter county limits.
01:54Repeat. Repeat. Oh, repeat. Oh, you have not been granted permission to enter county limits.
02:00Maintain flight level 12 and continue your holding pattern. Over.
02:03Roger, Twin Towers. We will circle until notice fails us.
02:08Merde!
02:10Qu'est-ce qu'il a dit?
02:12Il faut qu'on ait envie de compter.
02:17Ah! Bâtard!
02:21Oh! Qu'est-ce qu'il a dit?
02:24Oh, mon chéri!
02:26Oh! Oh!
02:56Yeah. Get him out of there. Yes.
03:19My child is only six! You're a monster! A monster! What did you do to our community?
03:32You are a monster! I should kill you! I should kill you!
03:43Mrs. Margini, I believe you have the floor.
03:50Do you see the reactions that this council inspires?
03:54This is just another example of the corruption of this board.
03:58You're all putting your own self-interests above the welfare of your constituents.
04:06If you allow that nuclear-powered supersonic transport to land in Twin Cities, you'll be... it's... it's suicide!
04:16Mrs. Margini, may I make a reply to your statement?
04:20I just wish to cover some of the pertinent data on the faxes we have.
04:26We seem to have created a great deal of hurt over a very small molehill.
04:32There's no need for you all to get worked up into a carpet ride.
04:38No decision has been made which would alter our previous ruling that we would or we would not allow the French airliner to land.
04:49Now, let's observe our situation with objective crystal clarity, huh?
04:55All right. Most important is that we realize our economy is totally dependent on air traffic.
05:03At least mine is.
05:05Mine too.
05:06Me too.
05:07There seems to be some sort of vocal minority.
05:10That is, some of you apparently can't stand the idea of a SST within a hundred miles of our city.
05:16Would somebody out there tell me exactly what's so dangerous about a big airplane?
05:22The bomb!
05:29The bomb could kill!
05:35I have a film!
05:38Hey!
05:47Men's Laboratories, fall 1973.
05:52Although this man did not know it, he was about to fall victim to sonic boom.
06:05Where's the doctor?
06:06Meeting is adjourned.
06:07You're just being ridiculous, Orden.
06:10I'm being ridiculous? These cities are ridiculous. The county council is ridiculous.
06:15Maybe you just don't care about your family anymore, Frank.
06:18What?
06:19Shh, nothing.
06:20Hmm?
06:21What's that supposed to mean?
06:23Drop it.
06:24No, I want to know what you mean.
06:26You know what I mean.
06:28I'm just upstairs, Mommy.
06:30Come on, get those things off his ears, David.
06:32Look it, Frank, you're in a position to do something about this.
06:35Lay off!
06:37If you won't do anything about it, I will.
06:40Another cause. I'm leaving.
06:43No, wait, wait, don't go.
06:46I'll fix us breakfast.
06:48It's noon.
06:49Lunch?
06:51Give me a break.
06:55Don't think I don't know where you're going.
06:58I'm going.
07:04Haven't you got to play?
07:29Hey, we made it.
07:31Huh?
07:32Shh, turn it up, idiots.
07:36Come on, let's get started.
07:44Hey, hey, hey, hold it, hold it, ladies, hold it.
07:48Nothing's working.
07:49What's going on?
07:50What's going on?
07:51What's going on?
07:52What's going on?
07:53What's going on?
07:54What's going on?
07:55What's going on?
07:56Hey, ladies, hold it.
07:58Nothing's worth fighting about.
08:00Take a tip from old Bob Bangles.
08:03Dance.
08:18Hey, down there.
08:19You all right, old timer?
08:21Double timer, you mean, sonny.
08:26Only once I could be a useful cop.
08:34I may be down, but I'm not out.
08:39Out to lunch.
08:42I'm hungry.
08:45Where am I?
08:50The French government understands you are a man that negotiates.
08:54It is said that the French government has great understanding.
08:58Certain considerations could be tendered.
09:01Tender considerations would be gratefully acknowledged.
09:05Agreed.
09:06Agreed.
09:07The SST will land at 2 o'clock.
09:11The bread, here it is.
09:14And here is the little heart.
09:19Now, wait a minute.
09:20Please, be calm.
09:21I have it here.
09:23The little snow scene bubble of Montmartre.
09:28No, no, no, not in the dark.
09:31It's 12.30, and I brought you some toasted muffins.
10:01Muffins.
10:32Come on, you'll be late.
10:36I've been late for five years, and only now I've realized it.
10:40Come on.
10:43I love you.
10:44Huh?
10:48Put on your hearing aid.
10:50We're out of Kool-Aid.
10:52No, no, no, I love you.
10:54No, no, no, I love you.
10:56We're out of Kool-Aid.
10:58No, no, no, I love you.
11:12Will you have dinner with me tonight?
11:15Well...
11:16Please?
11:18Okay.
11:20Oh, goody.
11:21Then, I'll go to the airport shopping mall,
11:23But I'll be close to you.
11:26Hurry it up, hurry it up.
11:41Oh, you too.
11:43Okay.
11:45There you go, Joe.
11:52Steak and eggs, the way you like them, cooked.
11:55On a plate, too.
11:57Cream of wheat with extra water.
12:01Hey, cookie.
12:02What you got under that dress?
12:04Ben-gay.
12:07I am not.
12:31Oh, hi, Audrey.
12:32Hi, Joe.
12:33Buy a cup of coffee?
12:34No, thanks.
12:37What's the matter, little lady?
12:39I don't know.
12:40I'm a little upset.
12:42Upset?
12:45Don't be upset.
12:46Life is just a dance.
12:48How can you say that?
12:50My family's falling apart.
12:53My husband's running away with another woman.
12:57And my child's ears are going to be blown out by puffed wheat if they let that supersonic transport land towards his airports.
13:11Oh, yeah?
13:13That's bad.
13:15Is life like that?
13:19What could we do?
13:21Hey, listen, if you guys had any brains, you'd get out and try to warn everybody.
13:31Let's go.
13:50Look, Mrs. Magini, you're essentially a very nice person, but you keep coming in here with these stories.
13:56What was the last one?
13:57The little animals that live in your intestines that manufacture vitamin B12.
14:11But you people have great influence.
14:13If you can get all your members together, we can get word out immediately.
14:17Oh, don't worry about it, honey.
14:19Take it easy.
14:20You're overreacting.
14:21Don't sweat it.
14:22Everything will be all right.
14:24Relax.
14:25It's not that serious.
14:27Come on, car.
14:55What's this?
14:57Do you hear me?
14:59Do you hear me?
15:01Mayday.
15:02Mayday.
15:03Mayday.
15:04I don't want to get their attention.
15:06Tilt.
15:08What is he flying at?
15:09You've got to help me.
15:10What is he flying?
15:11747.
15:12Holy jeep.
15:13I'm not a pilot.
15:14Find out how old this kid is real quick.
15:16How old are you?
15:17Seven years old.
15:18Holy mother.
15:20Your direction's fine.
15:21What do I do?
15:22Keep the wings level.
15:23Gosh.
15:25Where is the kid, Winnie?
15:26Ask him where he is exactly.
15:28I'm confused.
15:29Can you see if you're over mountains?
15:31Is he over the Sangessa Peak?
15:34Or near it?
15:35Very close.
15:36Very close.
15:37Well, get him around that real quick.
15:40That's 12,000 feet, Jackie.
15:42Come on.
15:43Straight in front of you, there's going to be a big mountain.
15:46He can't miss that.
15:47And that.
15:48Go around it.
15:49That's right.
15:50Get him around that slowly.
15:53Okay, you're on your own.
15:55Okay.
15:56Wait a minute.
15:57You've got another ten minutes.
15:59Traffic control, McGenie speaking.
16:01Frank, this is Chairman Dover.
16:04How busy is the big runway?
16:06The one right next to the shopping mall?
16:08Yeah, the big one.
16:11Number 12.
16:12It's pretty stacked up.
16:14Okay, do me a favor.
16:15Will you clear it out?
16:16I want to land a plane there at 2 o'clock.
16:19Yeah, good.
16:20Goodbye.
16:24A big...
16:25Oh, God, no.
16:28Right over the shopping mall.
16:32What's going on?
16:34Huh?
16:38Who are you talking to?
16:42Geez, this thing's driving me crazy, cheapo set.
16:45What's...
17:09Careful, idiot.
17:10One loud noise and this nitro will blow us higher than a church bell.
17:13One loud noise and this nitro will blow us higher than a church steeple.
17:16Sorry.
17:17Huh?
17:18Shh.
17:19How much longer?
17:21About 40 minutes.
17:23Good.
17:24It's only 1.30 now.
17:36I'm having miserable luck, Audrey.
17:38Me too, Joe.
17:40I guess I'll go and try and warn the black community.
17:42Are you kidding?
17:43A white woman wouldn't last 60 seconds up there.
17:46That's okay.
17:47I speak their lingo.
18:12Hmm.
18:28Nerdy.
18:37Oh, man, what is this?
18:42Well, greetings, Captain.
18:53Fooza Fooza Hound Dog.
18:54How about a shortcake?
18:55Boom boom to Sonic.
18:57Watch out, brother.
18:58Damn white fool.
18:59Ow.
19:00Fuck this shit.
19:01Go on out and have me a drink.
19:23Hey, Mr. Buff Angles, dance.
19:28No, no, son, no.
19:31Life, life's not like that.
19:37Oh, we're going to go to the market and get our little crunchy onesies and you're just
19:44going to love that.
19:45Okay, now we're going to get into a little home together.
19:46Okay, and give mama back her jewelry.
19:57Pussycat.
19:58Give mama back her jewelry.
20:00No, the pussy doesn't get the jewelry.
20:03Okay, the pussy gets her little crunchy onesie.
20:06It was a pleasure, you know, silly.
20:13I told him to pull forward.
20:19He pulled back.
20:23We lost him.
20:27I told him to pull forward.
20:33He pulled back.
20:39We lost him.
20:42What do you mean?
20:43He went in?
20:44Oh, God.
20:45Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
20:48How many planes have we lost here in 15 years?
20:50Four, four.
20:51I lost my plane.
20:52All right, we lost four planes.
20:54350 people are down.
20:56The kid had no damn business being in there anyway.
21:06Audrey, I got to find a locksmith.
21:08I'm locked out of my car.
21:32I'm supposed to feel sorry for you, huh?
21:35Well, I don't feel sorry for you.
21:37I'll clue you in on something.
21:38Take a look at those pills over there.
21:40All those red devils.
21:41That's the reason that plane went in.
21:43Not the kid.
21:44Not the 350.
21:45No, it's you.
21:46You.
21:47You weren't listening.
21:48You weren't paying attention.
21:49You're out of focus.
21:50Sitting over there with the pills with the red devils.
21:53That's why all this hyperventilating stuff, huh?
21:56Well, there are no tears in my eyes, jockey.
21:58I'm sorry.
21:59You blew it.
22:01You put the 350 and the kid in the ground.
22:04That's right.
22:05You hear me?

25:18I've given them my permission to land.
25:21I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I was out of line and I shouldn't have said what I did, I...
