Indigenous European Music - Folk group Skandinieki is singing a traditional folk chant that was meant to ward off the rain in a now extint language - Livonian. The Livonian people used to live in Northern Latvia and subside mostly from fishing & trading.

Lyrics in English:
Pour, you rain, just for one hour,
Do not pour throughout the whole day!
Pour, you rain, just for one day,
Do not pour throughout the whole week!
Pour, you rain, just for one week,
Do not pour throughout the whole summer!

Sada, vimo, ī'd stuņḑ,
Alā sada amā pǟva!
Sada vimo, ī'd pǟva,
Alā sada amā nädīļ!
Sada, vimo, ī'd nädīļ,
Alā sada amā sõ'v!
DZIESMAS VĀRDU TULKOJUMS:
Lej, lietutiņ, vienu stundu
Nelej visu dienu!
Lej, lietutiņ, vienu dienu
Nelej visu nedēļu!
Lej, lietutiņ, vienu nedēļu
Nelej visu vasaru!
