Alligator attack in Florida: A six-year-old boy was saved by his quick-thinking dad and a brave bystander after an alligator got it jaws around his left arm. Joey Welch took a day off from school to spend the day canoeing with his dad, in a Boynton Beach river. While the two were waiting for their canoes, Joey's curiosity got the better of him and he wandered off.

At the riverside, he slipped and fell into the gator-infested waters.
A moment later, Dad heard a chilling scream and bolted toward the water. He jumped in, grabbed Joey around the chest and began throwing punches into the animal's head.
A bystander heard the commotion, leaped in, and landed a powerful kick into its belly.
Realising it was outgunned, the alligator gave up and let go.
Joey only had a few scratches to show for his tussle with the animal - something his mum described as 'a miracle.'
As for the greedy gator, local authorities trapped and killed the wild animal for displaying 'aggressive behaviour.'
