The Gamestop store manager in the now-infamous Grand Theft Auto V midnight release "Nerd Rage" viral video has reportedly been fired after squaring off with a customer at a Burbank, California store.
The employee got into a spat with a customer eager to buy a copy of the latest installment in the popular Grand Theft Auto franchise during Tuesday's midnight launch.
The man allegedly attempted to buy a copy of the controversial ultraviolent game without valid photo ID. He instead presented his business card and got angry after the manager insisted on seeing photo identification.
After the matter appeared to have been resolved, though, the manager added insult to injury by prematurely celebrating her victory and mocking the embarrassed customer in the process.
She jokingly threatened to share the man's personal details with other customers who had to wait in line behind the man to purchase the hotly anticipated game so that they could make fun of him.
After leaving the store and possibly licking his wounds, the man returned and repeatedly demanded the manager's information in order to report her.
Video footage of the incident posted to YouTube instantly went viral and has racked up more than half a million views.
Gamestop took to Facebook to announce that they were looking into the matter. Reports by video game-focused blogs claim the employee in question was canned by the retailer.
