Student nailed for robbery at a maid cafe

A 20-year-old vocational school student who wore a suit and a pair of glasses when he robbed a maid cafe was nabbed this past Monday.
A woman working in a maid cafe close to Akihabara Station was threatened by a knife-wielding man during a robbery one evening in November. The suspect ate cakes and stayed at the maid cafe for nearly two hours until a male customer sitting next to the till left.
While pretending to pay the bill, the robber brandished a knife at the shop assistant. and shouted "hold still" before running away with 135,000 Yen ($1,300). Using security camera footage from around the cafe and taxi records, the police tracked the student down. He confessed to all the charges during questioning, saying that he spent the cash he took on scooter repairs and meals. They also recovered some of the stolen cash.
