SHOCKING VIDEO: Maggot found in Taiwanese woman's ear after she complained about earache

A Taiwanese woman suffering from an earache went to the hospital only to discover she had a maggot living her ear canal, according to a report by the New England Journal of Medicine.

The 48-year-old complained to doctors at Taipei's Tri-Service General Hospital of a severe earache.

The doctors proceeded to remove the hearing aid to inspect her ear canal, only to discover a squirming fruit fly larva nesting inside.

According to her doctor, the hearing aid made her inner ear warm enough to become an appealing place to move in for the larva.

Fortunately doctors were able to remove the insect without too much trouble and gave the woman some antibiotics for her trouble.
