The violence occurred on Tuesday morning when Das was on his way to work.
He was approached by four masked men who attacked him with machetes and cleavers.
Das was rushed to the hospital but couldn't be saved.
At the time of the incident there weren’t many people on the streets, but police are interviewing the few witnesses that were available.
