Domestic violence husband tried to murder wife because she shut the window too loudly

A Taiwanese man was arrested for the attempted murder of his wife in Taichung early Sunday morning. 49-year-old Mr. Hsu and his 48-year-old wife have been married for 20 years and had two kids. However, the marriage was not a happy one, as they have argued constantly over who holds the title to their land.
When police arrived at the Hsu residence Sunday morning, the whole house was filled with gas, and Mr. Hsu was in the process of lighting a cigarette. Police quickly intervened. The wife said she was woken up by 'hissing' sounds and saw a tube coming from under her door. Mr. Hsu exclaimed that he wants to die together with his wife . She ran to her sons' rooms and asked for help, however, they thought it was a regular argument between their parents, and ignored her.
The wife remembered that Mr. Hsu had ordered two extra bottles of gas prior to that day. Mr. Hsu's reason for the attempt murder was that the sound of his wife closing the window often wakes him up during the night, and said that he was only going to scare her.
10 years ago, Hsu's wife had filed a domestic violence report on him, but Mr. Hsu said that he was just trying to tame his wild wife down. Experts said that what Mr. Hsu did could have cost his wife her life, and has since been arrested.
