Remember Elizabeth Raine? She was the self-described "virgin whore" who announced that she was auctioning her virginity to the highest bidder. Well, after bids topped out at $800,000, she called the whole thing off. Here's why.
Elizabeth Raine, real name Hanna Kern, initially hid her face from bidders but decided show it after bidders got skittish, fearing she might be a butterface (pronounced but-her-face).
The move worked, attracting many anonymous big fish who bid as high as $801,000. However, classmates and professors at the University of Washington also saw the pictures, and her cover was blown.
It turns out the "virgin whore" was indeed a successful med student as she claimed, but the school accuses her of damaging its reputation for daring to commodify her own body.
This, from the number one ranked party school in Washington, state according to Colleges.Niche.com. Still, when Kern requested verification from the bidders, they suddenly evaporated into thin air, meaning the whole auction was a bust.
Now she's back to studying for exams. Instead of losing her virginity and getting rich quick, Hanna Kern will have to do both the old fashioned way in her highly lucrative future career as a bioengineer.
