What was initially thought to be a tragic accident is now being investigated as murder. Justin Harris Ross' son died after being left in a hot car for seven hours.

On June 17th, Ross had breakfast with his 22-month-old son at a fast food in Cobb County. He then strapped his son into his rear facing car seat and drove to his office five minutes away.

According to initial reports, Ross forgot to stop off at the daycare center, and instead inadvertently left his son in the car while he went to work. The boy was in the car for nearly seven hours, with temperatures reaching between 90 and 100 degrees.

A warrant, obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta found that Harris went back to his vehicle during lunch before again returning to work, but still didn't notice his son strapped in the back seat.

Harris allegedly discovered his mistake as he was driving home and noticed his son was unresponsive. He pulled into a shopping center administered CPR and asked onlookers for assistance.

Witnesses from the shopping plaza described Ross' behavior as "odd". One witness said Ross initially told onlookers his son was choking.

Another damning piece of evidence was a computer search that police reportedly found on Ross' work computer. According to reports, someone using his computer searched for information on animals dying in hot cars.

Ross has been charged with felony murder and child cruelty charges. He's being held without bail at the Cobb County Jail.
