Elevator surfing death: Man's body crushed inside elevator shaft after visiting girlfriend

A New York man was crushed by an elevator he was allegedly ‘surfing’ on top of in a Bronx housing project, but witnesses say he was simply trying to escape a stuck elevator.

Tito ‘Beebo’ Morales, 20, was taking the elevator from his girlfriend’s apartment in Adams homes, when it became stuck. After he climbed through the emergency hatch, it started moving again.

Morales attempted to jump to the other elevator’s roof but lost his footing and became wedged into gap between the shaft wall and elevator cenl.
