Man jumps to death, accidentally kills a neighbor

One of the first stories of people jumping off buildings to commit suicide, but then landing on pedestrians happened 28 years ago in Taipei. Unfortunately, a similar accident took place on August 7.
An off-duty security guard witnessed to horrific accident first hand, when a 21-year-old male jumper landed directly on top of a 61-year-old woman. The guard happened to be talking to the woman in the courtyard, when the man jumped from the 10th floor and crushed the woman to death. The guard immediately called the police.
When paramedics arrived, both the jumper and the older woman had passed away. Authorities estimate the man fell at around 90 kph and landed on the woman with 1.75 tons of force. The woman sustained a serious neck and leg fracture.
According to reports, the 21-year-old man had been suffering from years of severe depression.
