According to the Wednesday Journal, a Korean language paper in Hong Kong, there are around eight thousand Koreans living in Hong Kong. Most of them do business in the city, and rely on the free paper to keep up to date on events in this crazy town.

If Koreans want to know what is happening in Hong Kong, they read Wednesday Journal which publishes 3,000 copies every Wednesday. People pick it up for free at Korean churches, banks, and grocery stores in the city.

Other than local news, the Wednesday Journal’s chief editor says their stories are always related to the economy , or politics. He added that in recent years they’ve printed more news about marches, protests, and clashes between civilians and the police. Familiar fare for a Korean audience.

Just like the locals, Koreans think too many Chinese people come to Hong Kong, and their behavior such as urinating and crapping in Hong Kong’s streets has worsen their quality of life. If the conflict between Hong Kong and China doesn’t get better, Koreans might leave Hong Kong and move back to Korea or someplace with less crap.
