Three killed after gunmen went on apparent random shooting spree in Los Angeles

Authorities are investigating whether there is a link between three fatal shootings in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles early Sunday, which appear to have been committed by two gunmen with no specific target.

The first of three apparently random shootings in Los Angeles on Sunday took place as the Francos family was driving to church at around 5:50 a.m. Behind them was a gold, or tan SUV with tinted windows driving erratically.
Fearing that the driver was drunk, the Francos pulled over to the side of the road. The SUV pulled up and shot at the family. The 22-year-old, wheelchair-bound daughter was killed, while the others were injured.
The second shooting took place 45 minutes later. A Latino man collecting recyclables was gunned down on the 13000 block of Borden Avenue.
A Hispanic woman in her 50s fell victim to the last attack. She was shot while waiting to pick up a friend to church in a car. Witnesses reported seeing a light-colored SUV at the scene.

An anonymous police source told the Los Angeles Times that a shotgun had been used in all three shootings.
