Southwest Airlines attendant kills man by refusing to use defibrillator on his hairy chest

A New Mexico widow whose husband suffered a heart attack aboard a Southwest Airlines flight earlier this year, claims his death may in part be due to a flight attendant's refusal to use a defibrillator because his chest was too hairy.

According to an account given to KOAT by his wife Caroline, Jack Jordan suffered cardiac arrest mid-way through a flight back to Albuquerque from Los Angeles at the end of April.

After CPR failed, a Southwest Airlines a female stewardess allegedly refused to use a defibrillator to save the dying 62-year-old's life because of his hairy chest.

By the time Jordan's chest was shorn, however, it was already too late. Jordan died at Albuquerque International Sunport.

Southwest told KOAT that they're investigating the situation.
