Bus crashes into San Francisco Bay Area house

Eleven people were injured when a bus crashed into a house after being struck by a stolen car in Central Richmond, San Francisco on Friday.

The crash took place at around 5:35 p.m. when a stolen Honda was driving recklessly near Burbeck Avenue. Police was following the stolen car when it sped past a stop sign and crashed into an AC Transit bus, according to the Contra Costa Times.

The bus then crashed into a house occupied by a mother and two young children. It narrowly missed a baby boy, who was sitting alone in a bouncy chair in the living room, while his mother and his 5-year-old sister were in the bedroom at the time of the crash, the Contra Costa Times reported.

The driver of the stolen car fled the scene on foot. The passenger of the stolen car was taken into custody. Eight people who were aboard the bus were taken to a hospital. None of victims suffered serious injuries, according to the Contra Costa Times.
