According to Reuters, U.S.-led airstrikes hit Islamic State targets in the northern Syrian town of Manbij. In eastern Syria, U.S.-led forces bombed a gas plant outside the city of Deir al-Zor, where several Islamic State militants were wounded.

The airstrikes also hit areas of the city of Hasaka in the northeast and four modular refineries and an Islamic State command and control post on the outskirts of the city of Raqqa in the north, Channel News Asia reported. The raids also destroyed a plastics factory outside Raqqa.

Meanwhile, Syrian government forces hit targets east of Aleppo overnight using barrel bombs and other ordnance. Reuters said Syrian government forces also carried out air strikes in Hama in western Syria.

The U.S. is targeting oil facilities seized the Islamic State in an effort to destroy an important source of the group’s revenue.
