Latino hate crime: Florida teens kill immigrant in twisted 'Guat hunting' game - TomoNews

A group of Florida teens are suspected of murdering a young Guatemalan man two weeks ago in a disturbing 'game' targeting people in the Hispanic community.
"The suspects in this case specifically targeted members of Hispanic community, they sought them out and this young man was ultimately killed as this crime unfolded," said Jupiter police chief Frank Kitzerow according to an ABC 25 reports.
Austin Taggart, 19, David Harris, 18, and Jesse Harris, 19, all allegedly robbed immigrant workers of Hispanic decent outside Jupiter's Neighborhood Resource Center, where they began to stalk 18-year-old Onesimo Marcelino Lopez-Ramos.
On April 18, around 2 a.m. all three suspects appeared with two unidentified men on the front lawn of one of Lopez-Ramos' friends home.
According to police reports a bloody white rock was found next to the body of Lopez-Ramos who suffered fatal wounds to his face and head.
The report also noted Taggart told officers that Harris was laughing when he stated they had been "Guat hunting," a derogatory term used to target people of Guatemalan descent, police said.
All three suspects are facing murder and robbery charges, but state attorneys are currently pursuing hate crime charges.
