His nail pierced hands, lashed and broken body, head of thorny crown were all a symbol that the body of Christ will suffer till the end of age. We live in a day when more Christians worldwide live in fear for their lives than at any time in history! Christian persecution has reached historic levels, every five minutes a Christian dies somewhere in the world for his or her faith. Being Christians we cannot demand revenge for our enemies but we can only pray for God’s mercy that these extremists can know the impeccable love of Christ. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
