00:12Because I'm half Golden Retriever and half Standard Poodle.

00:17I'm as sweet as a Golden Retriever and as smart as a Standard Poodle.

00:21It's great pulling from two awesome gene pools.

00:24I make an excellent guide dog, therapy dog, and an overall companion for you and the family.

00:29I'm a real people dog and prefer to be around humans as much as possible.

00:35My breed is a pretty new one and was developed primarily for people with allergies and needed

00:40guide dogs.

00:41In the early 90s, breeders in Australia and North America started crossing Golden Retrievers

00:46with Standard Poodles and came up with me.

00:49We live to be between 12 and 15 years old when well cared for and stand between 24 and

00:5526 inches, usually weighing between 30 and 50 pounds.

00:59My coat will vary between the wavy locks of a Golden and the curls of a Standard Poodle.

01:04My fur is long and can grow to be 4 to 7 inches unclipped.

01:08Both Standard Poodles and Golden Retrievers are very susceptible to hip dysplasia, which

01:13puts us Golden Doodles at high risk.

01:16Training is easy with us because of our gentle demeanor, intelligence, and eagerness to please.

01:22We are popular as guide or therapy dogs and are often chosen by people with allergies

01:26because we have less hair than that of a Golden Retriever.

01:29I'm happy to live anywhere, apartment or house, as long as I get a moderate amount

01:34of exercise.

01:35I'm friendly and enthusiastic towards everyone, including other animals.
