Chauncie is an large, white, affectionate goat that behaves more like a dog than a goat. Chauncie was abused as a rodeo goat, leaving him with permanent scars on his neck. He is now safe at the Hooves and Paws sanctuary. But, the hope is to find Chauncie a happy forever home.

If you are interested in adopting Chauncie please contact hoovesandpaws.org

00:00We first found out about Chauncey about three years ago.
00:09A woman contacted us and she was boarding her horse at a ranch where they did a lot
00:14of rodeo practice and unfortunately Chauncey was being used for rodeo practice.
00:20He was basically being used for calf roping style of practice where riders would follow
00:27him, chase him down, they'd lasso him and basically flip him to the ground, tie his
00:32legs.
00:33So he was really being used quite abusively for that purpose.
00:36When he became too big for that rodeo practice, they wanted to sell him and he was basically
00:42going to be used for meat.
00:44So the woman asked if we could take him here at the sanctuary and make sure that he would
00:49have a safe home for the rest of his life.
00:51Here at Hoods and Paws, we rescue abused, abandoned and neglected animals and we rehabilitate
00:57them.
00:58We try to find new homes for them and adopt them out and those who are not adopted are
01:02kept here at our sanctuary for the rest of their lives.
01:06Chauncey today is one of the most special goats that we have.
01:09He has a huge personality.
01:12He is so friendly.
01:13He loves to meet people.
01:15He loves to get attention.
01:16He can't get enough love and petting.
01:19Chauncey is one of my favorite goats because he's so funny.
01:22He's one of the first goats that comes up to you and he starts rubbing his horns up
01:28and down your jeans.
01:31I've actually gotten licked by Chauncey before and he will not leave you alone.
01:35He just wants you to pet him constantly.
01:37He's just adorable.
01:38When Chauncey came to us, he had a lot of health problems.
01:42He was pretty thin.
01:43We think Chauncey is probably about four or five years old.
01:46He's still quite young and he has a lot of life ahead of him.
01:50His hooves are much better now and he's definitely packed on the pounds.
01:54He's gained some weight and he looks really healthy.
01:56We really want Chauncey to find a great home.
01:58We want him to go with a family who will really love and appreciate him and will take care
02:04of him for the rest of his life.
02:06Goats have personality and they're really funny to watch.
