00:00This is Jonah, the Burmese python. Isn't he amazing? He's probably one of my favourite
00:17snakes here. Oh, Bruce, I've got Bruce here just to help me because he actually weighs
00:23about 30 to 35 pounds. He's really, really big. I really love this snake because he actually
00:29hatched the same time I did. So I've actually played with him my whole life. He's really,
00:35really cool and I love him. The Burmese python can actually get up to about 16 feet long.
00:40They're one of the biggest snakes in the world. And these guys are actually constrictors,
00:46which means they'll coil around their prey and then squeeze all the air out. And to eat,
00:51he'll disarticulate his jaw in six different places to swallow that food item up. You can
00:58actually tell how big a food item that he will eat by the girth of the snakes. So this size,
01:05he would probably eat fairly small things like a rabbit or something like that.
01:10In places like Florida, people actually have these Burmese pythons as pets. Sometimes they
01:17get out and they'll eat some of the native wildlife. So it's a really big problem.
01:22This guy is sadly endangered. See that pattern? It's a beautiful pattern on the skin and people
01:29will actually kill the snake to get that skin. It's actually sort of like a fashion for people.
01:35But I think the skin looks a lot better on the animal than on someone's boots,
01:39bags or belts. Whoa, this guy's getting really heavy. So if I'm still alive,
01:45watch the next episode. And remember to subscribe to the Pet Collective channel.
01:51And I'll see you in the next one. Bye.
