00:00There was like an Australian online newspaper and it had it's had Colonel Meow that said
00:06Catlebrities and then right next to him was Kim Kardashian's face of like some other headline
00:14and they were right next to each other the same size and I was like, oh my god.
00:19Hi, my name is Anne-Marie Avey and I own Colonel Meow.
00:36I would say he handles it like he's Brad Pitt, but he doesn't really understand.
00:43He just thinks like it's normal.
00:47If you love your cat and if you love posting stuff or making videos, then do it.
00:55Let the sharing happen organically and eventually people like that enough, it will be shared.
01:00It's like wildfire.
01:02You can't control it.
01:04There's no progression.
01:05It's just happens.
01:06The conversation is really about like fascination, like what makes people fascinated.
01:10Anything can be a meme if it's unique enough that people want to mimic it and share it.
01:17I don't consider him a meme, but if people out there have made him one and it's great
01:21to see.
01:22Colonel Meow, I love what he has and he's fluffy as hell and looks angry in 20,000 different
01:28ways.
01:29It's just like this ferocious looking massive cat.
01:33He walked down Hollywood Boulevard and he just kind of walks around and just have people
01:38with their phones like, is that a, what, what is that?
01:41It is the most insane looking cat I've ever seen in the best way.
01:47He's so cool.
01:48He's so fun and he just doesn't care.
01:51You know, he just doesn't care.
01:53That little fur ball of funk.
01:56Two shakes.
02:00He was abandoned on the side of the road, was taken to a kill shelter and through the
02:04Persian Himalayan Society, I was able to rescue him.
02:08He looked at me with those big eyes.
02:10You and me, like you and I have something and I need you to step it up right now and
02:16get me out.
02:18I just obeyed.
02:19I just obeyed, which is like any minion would do.
02:24With Colonel Meow, he's definitely inspired my writing.
02:28He definitely gave me that second chance, like here you go, look at me, you might as
02:34well write something about this.
02:39The social media around Colonel Meow is hilarious.
02:42He's an ex-Colonel and Scotch is his go-to.
02:46He likes a smooth Johnny Walker black, one cube, and he just wants to relax and make
02:52all the voices go away.
02:54The owner has gone and created a personality type around Colonel Meow, this like storyline
03:00of like what Colonel Meow likes to do, which is drink Scotch.
03:06Colonel for a special occasion, tomorrow.
03:11Colonel doesn't give a rip.
03:12When people come over, he doesn't scurry and run underneath the bed.
03:16He like greets them and is like, welcome to my humble abode, gentlemen.
03:20Sit down, relax.
03:22I'm going to look from the top of my cat castle and stare at you all day.
03:27Colonel has this piercing stare.
03:29I'm like, Colonel, no, I'm not feeding you again.
03:33You know, he's like, whatever, fine, I won't snuggle with you later.
03:39It's very, it's on his terms is how we live our life.
03:43As humans, we secretly want to have that who gives a care type of thing.
03:50We have our Facebook, we have a Twitter, and we have a Tumblr, and we have a Instagram.
03:55We just post stuff every day and make some videos.
03:58We also have a YouTube account as well.
04:01You capture these moments on film with your animal and you share it on the internet.
04:06It's like the largest cat park in the world.
04:09There's that old joke that cats are popular on the internet because dog users can walk
04:14their dogs.
04:15How do you share your very, like, indoors focused cat?
04:19People are like, the internet's filled with cats.
04:21I'm like, well, because we can't go anywhere else.
04:23You're so good.
04:24Cats on the internet are just great.
04:27They're cats.
04:29I never expected this attention, and that's really cool to see others love him just as
04:35much as you do.
04:38What he represents is, like, a rescued cat.
04:41Turn your look around.
04:42Give the cat a good home, loving home, and that's a great thing.
04:47I'm so lucky to have that instant connection with him.
04:50When I first saw him, it was like, you need to get this cat.
04:52I don't know why.
04:53Oh, yeah, he's crazy looking, but just get him, just get him, and it'll all work out,
04:58and I feel like it was meant to be.
