Meat Loaf Muffins are a delicious treat for every human and canine! Chef Poodle is a culinary genius, with a degree in food science from The Canine Culinary Institute, and he takes you on a very delicious journey this week!

MEAT LOAF MUFFINS RECIPE:
Muffins: 1 pound lean ground beef, 1 cup fresh peas and carrots, 1/2 cup cooked brown rice, 2 eggs, Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees . In a large mixing bowl, using your hands, mix all of the ingredients thoroughly.Fill each muffin cup with the meat mixture and bake until well browned, about 40 minutes. Icing: Peel, cut and boil the potatoes until tender to the fork. Strain. Mix at a medium speed adding the Milk and Butter. Fill icing bag and Ice the muffins.

00:00Hey everyone, welcome to Dog Food. I'm Chef Poodle and this is my lovely assistant Jan.
00:07How are you today Jan? Oh I'm so good, I'm ready to cook.
00:14Jan, our mission here on Dog Food is to make meals that are safe, healthy, and delicious for dogs and humans alike.
00:20Today, we're making meatloaf muffins with a mashed potato icing. Let's get right to it.
00:25Absolutely. Where did I put that ground beef?
00:28Well, it's actually right over here, Chef. We got a fresh ground beef, about a pound.
00:33Smells delicious. Yeah, you want to take a little smell?
00:35Maybe just a taste. Well, we gotta save some for the recipe, Chef.
00:38You're right, you're right. That's why I keep it around, folks.
00:40We got about a cup of brown rice cooked. Smells good, doesn't it?
00:45So good. Yeah, you wanna? Yeah, I think I need the bowl a little closer.
00:48Yeah, I think so. Oh, thank you, thank you so much. Great, great.
00:50Jan, take that. I just can't help myself.
00:52All right, so what's up next?
00:54Okay, so we've got another cup of fresh peas and carrots.
00:57Mmm, peas and carrots. That smells good.
00:59We're gonna add that into this bowl. Oh, great. Perfect.
01:02Perfect. Mmm. I just, it's so good.
01:06How does it taste? It tastes uncooked right now, which is, we're gonna fix that.
01:11Okay, we have two fresh organic eggs.
01:14Oh, eggs. I love eggs. And you know what I love most about eggs?
01:17What do you love? Breaking them.
01:19Oh, yeah.
01:21Break it in. Oh, this is always such a challenge.
01:25You almost got it. We got another egg. Let's try it.
01:27Maybe you can give me some more to try. That's okay, look.
01:29Okay, great. Do a little, oh, perfect, chef.
01:32Next up, we just need to mix this all up with our hands.
01:35Okay, great. It's gonna be great. So here, I'll, let me finish it.
01:38Oh, that's fun. That's fun to do at home. Yeah, that'll be fun.
01:40Folks, this smells so good, and it hasn't even gone in the oven yet.
01:43Now that we've done that, before I clean my hands, Janelle, if you wanna bring over the muffin pan.
01:46Sure thing, got it right here. All right, terrific.
01:48And then, ah, yeah, the real challenge is, you know.
01:52Mm-hmm, getting it in. Now you gotta just put each of them in here again,
01:56resisting the urge to taste.
01:59All right, for those of you at home, we're gonna shape these into nice little muffin shape.
02:04We've preheated the oven to 350 degrees, and now we're gonna bake these for 40 minutes.
02:08All right, chef Jan, well, now we've finished the muffins, and it's time to move on to the icing.
02:12Sure thing. So we've got two pounds of mashed potatoes for our icing,
02:15and these have been pre-boiled, no water in there with them,
02:18and you're gonna add a cup and a half of milk and a half a stick of butter to them.
02:21Chef, would you like to do the honors? Absolutely, just, ah, thank you.
02:25Perfect. Oh, perfecto. Yes, smells good.
02:29Here, would you like to add the butter as well? Sure, sure, sure.
02:31Here, where is that? There we go, that's perfect. Yep.
02:34What am I trying to do here? Ah, there we go. There we go, perfect. Perfect.
02:38All right, so let's mix them up, and let's do this. Mm-mm-mm, that looks, that's interesting.
02:43So start off slow. Mm-hmm. Get it down in there. Wow.
02:47Okay, mm, that smells really good. A little bit slower, yeah. It smells so good, mm.
02:51We've whipped the potatoes, and they're ready to go.
02:53We gotta get the muffins out of the oven. Janelle, could you do that for me?
02:56Oh, absolutely, chef.
02:58You can tell if your muffins are ready to go by sticking a toothpick or a knife in and seeing if it comes out clean.
03:02Mm-mm-mm, those smell incredible.
03:06All right, Jan, you wanna bring that over here? Right there, be careful, it is, it will just come right out.
03:13Oh, wow. Okay, great.
03:16And then I'll start squeezing.
03:19Oh, I see. And then eat some from the top. So good. This is delicious.
03:23All right, well, I showed you how it's done, Jan. Now why don't you show me how to do the rest of these?
03:26I'd love to try it. All right.
03:29Oh, yeah, you could do it that way instead. Sure, why not?
03:32Chef Poodle, I have learned so much from you.
03:34All right, once your owner finishes them up, look at that. Those look beautiful.
