The wife of British man Robert Ellis has been arrested after he was found dead with his throat slashed in a Bali rice field on Tuesday.

British-Australian national Robert Ellis had lived in Australia for many years before moving to Bali.

His Indonesian wife, Noor, was detained on Tuesday night after reporting the disappearance of her husband.

She allegedly confessed to ordering four people to kill her husband because of marital problems, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Ellis’ body was found in Sedang Village at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday. A farmer found his body, wrapped in plastic bag in a ditch along with a foam mattress next to a rice field.

He had suffered three deep wounds to the neck, one of which caused his death, reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.

One of the alleged killers was reportedly arrested in Padangbai port in east Bali as he was trying to flee the island, the Guardian reported.
