Last week Abby Snodgrass walked into this Walmart in High Ridge, Missouri to get a few things — and walked out a hero.

The 17-year-old high school senior was shopping when a call went out over the P.A. for someone with medical training to help a baby who had stopped breathing. Snodgrass rushed over to the scene and saw an 11-month old girl who “didn’t look alive.”

She had recently learned how to perform CPR in school and used that training to get the little girl breathing again. Snodgrass is being praised by the community, including of course the mother of the girl.

The region’s emergency responders partnered with the local school district and began giving CPR training to all local high school students last year.
