This week Hong Kong officials finally grew tired of the Umbrella Movement pro-democracy protesters and began clearing them from occupied areas.
More than 3,000 Hong Kong police moved in on the Mong Kong protest camp, the area most prone to violent conflict and clashes between Hong Kong protesters, gangs, and police officers.
Police made announcements over loudspeakers that any citizen who did not voluntarily leave would be arrested. Several protesters who refused to leave were subsequently arrested.
This week, police began to push protesters out of occupied areas with several thousand officers in riot gear and high pressure water cannons.
Protesters who refused to leave were arrested, the youngest protester arrested during the event was just 14-years old and the oldest 69-years old.
After protesters were pushed out of occupied areas, the police began to remove debris and barriers on 13 different roads that protesters had blocked off during the Umbrella Movement.
Tempers flared on both sides as police struck out at protesters with batons and angry protesters launched broken umbrellas back at the police.
