Cleveland Heights cop pulls Samuel Taylor over while rushing to his wife’s side

An excited new father who was trying to rush to his wife’s side in a Cleveland suburb to greet his new child ended up greeting the barrel of an officer’s gun instead.
Samuel Taylor had just gotten the phone call every new father can’t wait for, but Officer William Robinson of the Cleveland Heights police clocked him doing 38 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone and tried to pull him over. Taylor was just a block or two from home and concerned about his wife, so he kept driving until he got home.
Officer Robinson immediately got out of his squad car with his gun drawn and stood there, blocking Taylor from trying to get to his wife, who was in labor just feet away.
Taylor called the police directly on his cellphone, but was told he could face felony charges if he moved.
It wasn’t until his wife Katie opened the door 20 minutes later and shouted at the officer that the situation became clear.
The couple later drove themselves to the hospital, where Katie delivered a healthy baby boy. City officials say Robinson acted within protocol guidelines for the situation.
