Missing Marietta, Georgia couple's bodies, car found in a Telfair County pond

Yesterday we told you about Elroy and June Runion from Marietta, Georgia.
Elroy wanted to buy a classic 1966 Mustang, like the one he had after serving in Vietnam decades ago. He spotted what he thought was a deal on Craigslist, contacted the seller and made arrangements to check out the vintage car the next day.
The seller, Ronnie Towns, 28, was the last to be in contact with the Runions, but he actually had no such car to sell. In fact, the cellphone he used to make the sell was cut on shortly before, and shut off shortly afterwards.
Last Thursday the couple made their way down from the Atlanta area to meet up with Towns in McRae, Georgia, about a three-hour drive.
Details are sketchy, but officials know the Runions met with Towns to see the non-existent vehicle. This was the last time anyone saw them alive. Their daughter was suspicious and called police after not hearing from her parents for two days.
On Sunday night the Telfair County Sheriff's Office found their 2003 GMC SUV in a pond. Their bodies were soon located nearby.
Towns was questioned and released. He turned himself in to police the next day accompanied by family members. He's currently charged with giving false statements and attempted theft by deception. However, these charges could be upgraded and more suspects added once the autopsies are completed.
