Evading border control: Frenchman tries to smuggle his Russian bride in a suitcase

A 60-year-old Frenchman traveled to Russia in order to find love. After finding himself a young, Russian wife, he proceeded to pack her into a luggage, fearing that she wouldn't be allowed into France.

The man boarded a Nice-bound train from Moscow, and placed the luggage, along with his wife, onto the luggage rack.

When the Frenchman reached Terespol Station at the border of Poland and Belarus, Polish immigration officials were suspicious of his large suitcase.

The immigration officials opened the suitcase and found the man's wife inside alive and well. The Frenchman then reportedly introduced his wife to the shocked immigration officials, "Hi, and this is my wife."

The couple later found out that as the spouse of a French citizen, the young bride could have entered the EU legally after all.
