The issue of transitional justice was discussed at UNASUR headquarters in Quito. The discussion at hand was how Colombia will try the crimes committed during the 50 year conflict. Authorities discussed the formation of a transitional justice system that will seek to prosecute maximum authorities responsible for atrocities committed during the conflict. The measures would be applied to both the guerrilla and the military. The representatives also discussed a proposal for the formation of a South American Criminal Court.
