Animal Cruelty? Jogger kills pug with a swift kick to the head in San Francisco park
A California Bay Area jogger, citing fear of little dogs, kicked a pug to death at Kensington Hilltop Elementary School Saturday morning.
Mei-Fun's owner, Stephanie Lisi, was walking her two, little pugs at a trail near the school. Against the trail's regulations, neither of the dogs were on a leash, although Lisi was trying to leash one of them when Mei-Fun was killed.
While Lisi was leashing up Mei-Fun's sister, she called over two-year-old Mei-Fun. As Mei-Fun walked over to her owner, a jogger's vicious leg shot out and connected with the pug's skull.
Mei-Fun died almost instantly as her legs stiffened and she fell over upon impact.
As little Mei-Fun makes her way up to doggy heaven, her owner remains in San Francisco trying to press animal cruelty charges against the elderly runner. No one was present when the incident occurred and there are conflicting statements from Lisi and the jogger about how hard Mei-Fun was kicked.
The case has been sent to the Contra Costa County district attorney's office for review.
