Sparky the Burrowing Owl, one of Wildlife Rescue of New Mexico's volunteer ambassadors to the public, sustained a shattered wing in an accident in mid February 2015. Xrays showed both the radius and ulna in multiple non-aligned sections, so no surgery was performed. The wing was wrapped in the hope that it might set in a position that Sparky could live with and continue his career as a wildlife ambassador. Instead, an amazing recovery has occurred - judge for yourself, if a bird can recover this far from a shattered wing, what other "miracles" of healing can occur from the simple efforts of rescuers simply giving injured wildlife a chance?
