South African filmmaker Neil Blomkamp has the market cornered on gritty South African sci-fi films with flicks such as “District 9” and “Elysium”, both ostensibly metaphors for racism and class division. His latest feature is “Chappie”, as story that appears to be about zeff rappers Die Antwoord befriending a smart robot and presumably being the worst possible crowd for it to hang out with.
