A court decision regarding Ireland’s 1977 Misuse of Drugs act has created a loophole that technically legalizes ecstasy and a number of other Class A drugs. 

Of the Court of Appeal ruling that made possession of a host of drugs permissible by law, the country’s Department of Health wrote, “All substances controlled by means of Government Orders made under section 2 cease to be controlled with immediate effect, and their possession ceases to be an offence. These include ecstasy, benzodiazepines and new psychoactive substances, so-called ‘headshop drugs.'”
