Venezuelan President Nicoloas Maduro has announced the installation of 20,000 fingerprint readers throughout the country in order to keep people from buying more products than they are allotted. This is an attempt to stem hoarding, one of the measures adopted by the right-wing opposition to create food shortages and destabilize the government.
