Inside The Americas - The Case of Gladys Lanza
  • 9 years ago
Gladys Lanza is Honduras' most well known feminist. Since the 2009 dictatorship she has also been a strong human rights advocate. She now has a four year prison sentence hanging over her. Lanza is accused of defaming a public official Juan Carlos Reyes who is accused of sexual harassment of an employee. Lanza's organization came to the victim's defense. Women's rights activists consider the prosecution of Lanza to be an attack on the feminist movement. Feminist groups at home and abroad have launched a campaign in her defense under the slogan "We are all Gladys". teleSUR
