However, researchers recently captured rare footage that may shed light into their predatory tendencies. The camera trap was installed by scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

In the video, a group of red colobus monkeys were sitting on and near a snapped tree in a national park in the southern region of Uganda. Within moments, the monkeys realized a predator was after them.

They immediately attempted to bolt out of the way, but the fierce African golden cat was able to charge at and attack one of the monkeys.
