A general strike called by UCPN Maoist-led 30 party alliance and CPN-Maoist has affected normal life across the country. Vehicles have remained off the road and market areas, industries, educational institutes remained shut due to the strike. Various places of the country remained shutting due to the strike. The strike has little effect in Chitwan district while banda enforcers have been taking out rally shouting slogans and shutting down the market area in Chitwan. Protest against the leading political parties conducting different program is holding at Chitwan. As in many places, there were also the protest rally against the strike but the strike is performing in many places. Some of the people included in the strike and protest rally are taken in police custody. There were only few people in roads, as the valley is known as crowd place.
