Beagles are relatively small dogs that typically weigh anywhere from 20 to 30 pounds as adults. An animal rescue facility in Chicago however, recently took in a Beagle that weighs a surprisingly hefty 85 pounds.

On January 6th, the dog was placed into the care of individuals from Chicago Animal Care and Control. Workers at the non-profit rescue center, One Tail at a Time, saw his photo and quickly arranged to have him picked up.

According to a Facebook message by One Tail at a Time, the 85 pound canine had to be wheeled into the building on a wagon. The social media post continues “We're calling him Kale Chips, because that's pretty much what his future looks like. We've slimmed down dogs almost as big as this, so we're up to the challenge.”
