Eric Hurtgen of the experimental GIF project Expand and Contract directs a visual cacophony of neon shop windows, flashing police sirens and the eerie glow of fluorescent lighting for New York artist Cubby. Inspired by night drives around North Carolina, Hurtgen turned to his smart phone and tapped into the vernacular to capture a pulsating, luminous video for Lovers Or Bruises, out now on the Pieces EP by Cubby. ___
