The Colombian government through the head of its delegation at the peace talks, Humberto de la Calle, welcomed the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia's (FARC) declaration that it regretted the civilian deaths that occurred in the course of a rebel attack on paramilitary positions in 2002. With the FARC's declaration of a unilateral indefinite cease fire, it remains to be seen whether the government will reciprocate with any similar concrete measures.
