A post office in a small Wisconsin village is one very busy place during the Christmas season. Not only locals, but plenty of visitors flock to Rudolph, Wisconsin to send gifts and cards because of a special postmark that notes ‘Rudolph, Wisconsin, Home of Rudolph, The Red Nose Reindeer.’

One woman who lives about 20 miles away from Rudolph has been going to the same post office each holiday season for a decade just to get her cards stamped there. The postmark acts as a final touch on cards and packages that makes them a little extra special, but this year four new bonuses were introduced.

As a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the TV special ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’, four forever stamps were issued. The U.S. Postal Service announced the new stamps in November and shortly thereafter, they were unveiled in none other than Rudolph, Wisconsin.

Rudolph’s Postmaster remarked “Normally we don't have the opportunity to dedicate a stamp that goes on sale nationwide and that's really an honor for us here in Rudolph.”

The village has a population count of 436 and the post office mails out tens of thousands of holiday cards annually. It gets so busy, the location can’t close for lunch for a few weeks in December due to the vast number of customers.
