I'm walking down this sad, sad path,
The saddest road of all.
I'm walking into nowhere
As darkness starts to fall.
My footsteps are now heavier,
My head is bending low.
I must go on, I can't go back,
I'm leaving all I know.
Don't know where this road will lead me.
Don't know where this road will end.
My empire's crumbling at my feet,
Of this I don't pretend.
Yesterday I was so happy,
My life was full with cheer.
But happiness soon melts away
When you lose a friend so dear.
I face the future, now, alone.
With tears washing ashen cheek.
On, on I go in silent prayer,
Though prospects rather bleak.
Don't know how many miles I'd travelled,
When a silhouette did my heart enrich.
For limping along to greet me
Was my best friend.
My little bitch.
