China's Stolen Girls | Global 3000

China's one-child policy has resulted in a shortage of marriage partners for men. Young girls are even kidnapped by human traffickers on their way to school, and then sold to families as future wives. According to official figures, the number amounts to up to 10,000 a year.

Xiao Guangyan is one of those girls who were kidnapped and sold. She's now been married to Wu Hanliang for more than twenty years, and they have three children. But Xiao never forgot her past. By chance she heard of an American-funded aid organization that actually managed to find her birth parents.
