From its first 7-minute debut with Tim Modise, Tata and Tutu, Julius Malema and Jacob Zuma, ZANEWS has come a long way from it’s humble too-hot-for TV origins. Have a look at our little blast from the past to see how far we’ve come - from lung-hazard fiberglass sets to slick keyed green screens, high-production video and laughs have become the standard, and our show, Puppet Nation, looks better than it ever did.
Special thanks to Kulula and Mail & Guardian, who backed us from the very beginning, to the SABC, who made us find a better way to do things, to TopTV, to StarSat, who broadcast our show now, to our viewers and fans, and to everyone who’s helped make ZANEWS the genre-breaking, tell-it-like-it-is platform it is and always has been. There is truly no other show like this, and we’re happy to keep marching to our mantra:
Make Laugh. Not War.
