Dal Tadka is one of the most popular dal recipes served in India. Tadka is the hindi word for tempering. in this technique the spices are fried in oil, thereby the spices release essential oils. Thus it changes the flavor, aroma and taste of the dish. In this video Archana takes us through an easy recipe on how to make Dal Tadka.
Ingredients: - 1 tomato sliced - 1 onion sliced - 1 inch ginger - 1 tbsp kasuri methi (fenugreek) - 1/2 tbsp rai (mustard seeds) - 8-10 garlic cloves - 1 tsp jeera (cumin) - Coriander as per need - 1/2 tsp turmeric - 2 green chillies - 1 tbsp butter - 2 red chillies - 7-8 curry leaves - Salt to taste - 1 big bowl dal - 2 tbsp oil
